Hello everyone! It’s me, creator of the show Pippin, dropping in with some announcements about Spirit Box Radio Season Two, and some other fun things that will be happening in the next few months!! stick around to the end, too, to hear a tiny teaser trail for Season Two!!
First, off, we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign for season two. All of the Voice Actors for Spirit Box Radio work extremely hard and I would love to be able to compensate them for their work on the show, and you can help make that happen! We’re looking to raise £2500, which will cover all of the shows essential costs, pay the supporting cast industry standard fees, and compensate our guest writers, and the guest directors who will be coming on to help me out here and there in season two. I’d love to be able to make this happen and we’ve got loads of rewards for different pledge amounts. You can donate to the fund at crowdfunder.co.uk/spirit-box-radio. All of the rewards are digital, because a lot of our fans are from overseas and we didn’t want to limit who could get what rewards.
Next in our list of announcements is we’ve got a new show that’s going to be launching in November! There are a few details that need to be ironed out, but more info and a trailer, will be coming soon, so keep your ears to the ground!! This show is NOT Challenger Deep, however!!
The Third Announcement is that Challenger Deep has a new launch date! It’s some time in February, an exact date is yet to be nailed down, but that’s when it’s coming!! Since the project got delayed, it has actually grown somewhat into an anthology series. The series will be called Not Even Dust, and it will feature short audio dramas of 6-10 episodes in length which tackle themes of humanity’s place in the universe. Challenger Deep will be the first instalment.
Announcement number four is!! Every other day in October we’ll be hosting text-based watch parties of horror films over on our discord server! There will be a special channel just for that, and the watch parties will be happening at different times every day so that multiple time-zones can benefit. Come hang out and join in for some, or all! There’s a range of types of horror to suit a wide array of preferences, and the full list will be going up at the end of September across our social media! We’re calling it HallowStream at Hanging Sloth Studios!! Expect a lot of bad puns and silliness.
The fifth announcement is that we’ll be running a fan writing even in October, too! It’s called ‘Dear Magpie’ and it’s a chance for you, the listeners, to send a letter to Sam Enfield ahead of his 23rd Birthday. Submissions will be open from 13th of October and will close on the 29th of October. Some letters will be read in a special bonus episode the Thursday after Sam’s birthday. You can write a letter about anything, in the style of the show if you like, or not, if you don’t! You can send horror stories, thank yous, messages of support – anything that comes to mind! Announcement number six!!!! We’re going to be re-vamping our merch in November!! The current merch will stick around until then, but around Sam’s Birthday we’ll be refreshing the lines to better suit the new Spirit Box Radio artwork, which you can see on our twitter and our tumblr!!
